Yilei Xue (Ph.D. Candidate)
e-mail: yilei.xue@mail.utoronto.ca
Yilei earned her Bachelor of Science in the Chemistry Specialist program at the University of Toronto Scarborough (UTSC) and completed her Master of Chemistry at the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (HKUST), working under the supervision of Professor Nagl. Her master’s research focused on analyzing the antibacterial properties of films integrated onto a digital microfluidic device coupled with an oxygen sensor layer. Currently, she is developing electrochemical sensors and optimizing ceramic membranes for applications in microbial fuel cells. In her spare time, she enjoys petting her cats and traveling.

Zixin (Tuesday) Yu (Ph.D. Student)
e-mail: zixin.yu@mail.utoronto.ca
Tuesday completed her Bachelor of Science in the Medicinal and Biological Chemistry Specialist program at UTSC. During her undergraduate studies, she conducted research under the supervision of Dr. Kerman, focusing on the simultaneous determination of biomolecules using modified electrochemical sensors. Currently, she is working on the development of electrochemical biosensors incorporating enzymes, DNA, and other biocomponents for detecting pollutants in wastewater and ecosystems under so-supervision with Dr. Bernie Kraatz. Outside of her research, she enjoys dancing and photography.

Ahmer Imam (Ph.D. Student)
e-mail: ahmer.imam@mail.utoronto.ca
Ahmer completed his undergraduate degree in Biological Chemistry (Specialist). He did his undergraduate thesis in Biosensors with Prof. Kerman and went onto work in a Battery startup company before returning for graduate studies where he now works on developing materials for Energy Storage devices such as Batteries and Hybrid Capacitors, as a co-supervision with Prof. Voznyy. During his spare time, he enjoys playing Basketball, World of Warcraft, and Minecraft.
Undergraduate Students (Supervised research)

Romina Mosleh (Undergraduate Volunteer)
Romina is a fourth-year undergraduate student pursuing a double major in Human Biology and Molecular Immunology and Disease. She is interested in the application of analytical and organic chemistry for both environmental and medicinal purposes. Romina is currently co-supervised by Dr. Kagan Kerman and Dr. Meissam Noroozifar, working on projects involving biosensor development and the electrochemical detection of biomolecules.
